11 Years of Pupil Progress: Milestone Moments from 2024-2025

- Brett Griffin, CEO and Founder of Pupil Progress
This April, Pupil Progress turned 11! It’s been more than a decade of supporting educators, innovating attainment tracking, and working closely with schools to ensure every pupil’s progress is maximised. While we could reflect on the entire journey, today, we’re focusing on 11 standout moments from just this past year—because it’s been a big one!
1. Sharing Megan’s Story at the PiXL Secondary Conference
One of the highlights of the year was standing in front of 800+ school leaders at the PiXL Secondary Conference in London to share Megan’s student case study. Seeing first-hand the impact that effective data insights can have on my own daughter’s future was a really personal moment for me. Our partnership with PiXL has been instrumental in empowering schools with PiXL Waves powered by Pupil Progress - helping teachers harness data to drive real change.
2. Moving to Our New Brighton HQ
After years of growth, we needed a space that could keep up with our ambitions. Our big move to a new central Brighton HQ was more than just a location change—it was about creating a collaborative environment where our team could continue to innovate and support educators.

3. Sponsoring the Inspiring Heads Initiative
We were proud to sponsor the Active Learning Trust’s Inspiring Heads initiative, which brings together future school leaders to share best practices and support each other in driving school improvement. Seeing our users making such a difference in their schools made this sponsorship a natural fit.
4. Partnering with NCFE on Research into Data-Driven Attainment
We collaborated with NCFE on a groundbreaking research project exploring the impact of data analysis on closing achievement gaps. The findings reinforced what we believe—when used effectively, data is a game-changer for pupil outcomes. My Co-Founder Barnaby Grimble presented the findings at a PiXL conference, showcasing the effectiveness of marginal gains in student progress.

5. Supporting Over 800 Schools
This year, we crossed an exciting milestone—over 800 schools are now using Pupil Progress to track and monitor attainment data! A huge shoutout to our dedicated in-house team who work tirelessly to provide the best possible support for schools across the UK and beyond.
6. Launching Pupil Progress Talks
We started our own Pupil Progress Talks—a podcast-style livestream connecting educators and industry influencers. These conversations have sparked incredible insights, and we’re excited to see where they go next.
7. Continuous Platform Improvements
We’ve been working closely with educators via our Product Board, ensuring that every update we make is aligned with what schools actually need. We take feedback seriously, and that’s why Pupil Progress keeps evolving to meet the demands of teachers and leaders.

8. Returning to BETT with the Department of Trade
This year, we headed back to BETT—the world’s leading edtech show—representing British innovation in education as part of the Made in the UK campaign. We also showcased how Pupil Progress supports international schools with tailored tracking solutions.

9. Creating a Short Film with Leighton Park School
We partnered with Leighton Park School to create a short film showcasing the impact of Pupil Progress. Their results spoke for themselves—a 17% leap in A-Level results and an 8% increase in GCSE 9-7 rates. Seeing those stats turn into student success stories is exactly why we do what we do.
10. Bumping into an Former Student
In a full-circle moment, I ran into one of my former students—now grown up and in their career. It was a powerful reminder of why we started Pupil Progress in the first place. Everything we do is about giving students the best possible chance to succeed, and moments like this make it all worth it.
11. Looking to the Future
As we wrap up 11 years, we’re already planning what’s next. More partnerships, more improvements, and most importantly, more support for schools and students. We couldn’t have reached this point without our incredible team, our passionate users, and the schools who trust us to help them drive progress. Here’s to the next 11 years!
Thank you for being part of the journey—we can’t wait to see what’s ahead.
